PAGE STILL UNDER CONSTRUCTION ... ...

The Fakers came together as the result of an idea by Jimmy Walker … so you can blame him! What with the lads being mates anyway whose paths had crossed from time to time in different bands. The idea was 'Wouldn't it be nice to all get together in the studio and play some Faces songs?'

So, everyone in agreement turned up on a crisp March morning in 2001 and enyoyed themselves so much, forgot to go home, those who turned up were there and songs that they didn't play were never recorded.

They did, however, record such Faces gems as 'Stay With Me', 'Miss Judy's Farm' and 'Three Button Hand Me Down. There was more adrenalin in that cosy little studio than getting the back of your neck scraped with a wet welcome mat. Personnel hoiked up trews and got on with it, each having little chores in between. Jimmy, for instance, had his work cut out rolling his fags, Dave twiddling and tweaking (fundamentally), Paul making the tea without complaining and Mark drinking tea constantly and complaining a lot. Anyway …

A friend of a friend's sister, whose brother worked with a woman whose sister's auntie was in the same class as Ronnie Wood got hold of a copy of the finished opus and, through the grapevine, got in touch through the jungle telegraph with Sir Jim Walker and the rest, as they say, …..
